Marijosee at the Frog Follies!

Harper Government Invests in Manitoba’s Community Festivals
STEINBACH, Manitoba, May 9, 2012 – Investments in arts and culture in southern Manitoba will help boost tourism and promote the economic growth of local communities. Support for five organizations was announced today by the Honourable Vic Toews, Member of Parliament for Provencher, on behalf of the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.
Funding will support the 2012 editions of the following festivals: St-Pierre-Jolys’ Frog Follies, Grunthal’s Hanover Agricultural Fair, Steinbach’s Summer in the City, St. Joseph’s Festival Montcalm, and Ste. Agathe’s Journées Cheyenne Days. This funding will provide Canadians with more opportunities to take part in activities that present local artists and celebrate their local history and heritage. Over 35,000 residents and visitors are expected to attend these festivals this summer.
“Our Government received a strong mandate from Canadians to invest in Manitoba’s economic future,” said Minister Moore. “By supporting these festivals, our Government is delivering on its commitment to strengthen our economy, boost tourism, and support our arts, culture, and heritage.”
“These festivals allow organizations and communities to showcase their local heritage and artists while fostering a sense of community pride,” said M.P. Toews. “I look forward to attending many of these events each summer to celebrate the best of what southeastern Manitoba has to offer.”
“The funding from the Government of Canada allows us to fulfill our mandate by providing local artists with opportunities to showcase their talent,” said Cynthia Rempel Patrick, Executive Director, Steinbach Arts Council. “This has allowed our festival to grow and has contributed to its success.”
The Government of Canada is provided funding of $72,200 through the Building Communities through Arts and Heritage program of the Department of Canadian Heritage. This program provides Canadians with more opportunities to take part in activities that present local arts and culture and celebrate local history and heritage.

Studio 59
The St-Pierre-Jolys Frog Follies and Agricultural fair is proud to announce the involvement of Singer/Songwriter and owner/operator of Studio 59; Marc LaBossière. Last year, the St-Pierre-Jolys Frog Follies and Agricultural Fair featured a Studio 59 showcase during the Saturday events with great success. Building on that success, the Frog Follies and Marc LaBossière will be working together in showcasing up and coming local artists of all ages. Ça Claque!
The Frog Follies and Agricultural Fair of St-Pierre-Jolys is proud to announce the return of Ça Claque during the festival's family night on Friday July 13th, 2012!
A showcase of Franco-Manitoban artists who share their love of French Canadian folklore - traditional as well as contemporary - through music and dance. Ça Claque! features exciting and diverse entertainment that will stir your senses from the first note of the fiddle to the last step of gigue.

The St-Pierre-Jolys Frog Follies & Agricultural Fiar is proud to announce the musical talent for the Harvest Dinner at 6pm on Sunday July 15th, 2012.
Cold Hard Cash, led by Curtis Beyak, provide an entertaining and energetic show from start to finish. From the unique Luther Style guitar picking to the steady powerful beat of the bass and drums, Cold Hard Cash provides an authentic and memorable show. They capture the look and feel of the early 50's and 60's with stylistic outfits and the legendary sound to complete the Johnny Cash experience.

New Logo
The St-Pierre-Jolys Frog Follies & Agricultural Fair is proud to reveal their new logo! Incorporating both the Frog Follies and Agricultural Society symbols, this new logo is contemporary, vibrant and full of life! At the heart of the logo lie the two main elements in our community festival, frog jumping and the plow. The Northern leopard frog's top hat bounces in the air as it leaps over the Ag Society's plow, representing the history of our festival. The sun symbolizes the warmth of our community and the prairie skies that surround us. Finally the wheat stalk represents our community’s main source of export, agriculture. In all, our logo conveys that the St-Pierre-Jolys Frog Follies & Agricultural Fair is full of action, family fun and history.
